Welcome to the MIT Mesh page. Mesh is a summer program at MIT for high-school students. If you are a prospective student, all the information that you will need is here.

Mesh is a summer program for gifted high school students run on the campus of MIT by the Educational Studies Program (ESP), a student organization. The program is based on the Japanese proverb, "To teach is to learn," a key insight that by teaching others one truly learns him/herself. Students in Mesh teach and take AP-level courses in calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, computers, and US history. In addition, there are elective classes in topics according to the interests of the staff and students.

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MESH*

Mesh 2004 will not run this summer.

We are very sorry, but Mesh will not be run in any form this summer -- there will be no residential program this year. Mesh 1998 was the last run of Mesh; it has not been run since then. -- ESP is not sure when we will be able to gather enough staff and resources together to re-establish the Mesh program.

If you're looking for a summer program at MIT, you might consider checking out WTP, the Women's Technology Program. It's in the same spirit as our programs, but WTP is not actually a part of ESP.

We would like to run Mesh, but we would also like to run the program well. Please see the Mesh 1999 notice for more information on the cancellation of the program since that summer. As always, we will consider trying again for next summer (2004).

Otherwise, ESP will probably offer some sort of non-residential academic program, such as HSSP, this summer for commuter students only. You must have, or find, local housing to be able to attend our local program. This summer program will offer enrichment classes and is open to 7th-12 grade students. Please check our ESP main website for details in April.

In addition, if you are looking around for other summer programs, here is a brief list.
